Is to be polite to one another, to encourage a sense of justice, to distinguish instructor from student and senior from junior.
1 Peter 2:17 “Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.”
1 Thessalonians 5:15 “See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves and to all men.”

Is steadfast adherence to a strict moral or ethical code or belief. Integrity means being able to define right from wrong, and have the conscience, if wrong, to feel guilt.
Proverbs 10:9 “He that walketh uprightly, walketh surely: but he that perverted his ways hall be known.”
Proverbs 11:3 “The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverted of transgressors shall destroy them.

Is steady persistence in adhering to a course of action, a belief, or a purpose; steadfastness. There is an old Oriental saying, “Patience leads to virtue”. The serious student must learn not to be impatient.
James 5:11 “Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.”
Hebrews 12:1 “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,”

Is control of one’s emotions, desires, or actions by one’s own will. This tenet is extremely important inside and outside of the DoJang, whether conducting one’s self in free sparring or in one’s personal affairs. A loss of one’s self-control can prove disastrous to both student and opponent. An inability to work within one’s capability is also lack of self-control.
Proverbs 25:28 “He that hath no control over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down and without walls.”
1 Thessalonians 5:8, “But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith, and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.”

A serious student will always be modest and honest. If confronted with injustice, he will deal with the belligerent without fear or hesitation and with an indomitable spirit regardless of whomever or how many the number may be.
2 Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
Joshua 1:9, “Have not I command thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
